Trace Consulting Group Ltd. (TCG) comprises a diverse team of consulting engineers proficient in various disciplines. Established in 2015, TCG has diligently catered to the Multi-residential, commercial, retail, institutional, and industrial sectors. Our expertise lies in capital system and equipment replacements, retrofits, renovations, tenant fit-outs, and new construction projects.

Our comprehensive range of services includes mechanical, electrical, fire protection, building science, and structural engineering, as well as comprehensive project management.
By offering a multi-disciplinary approach, we are equipped to assist with capital planning projects from inception to design, providing guidance and expertise every step of the way. Our involvement extends to assistance with tendering and construction management, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish. We add significant value to projects by ensuring they are done correctly, on time, and within budget, leveraging our extensive experience and attention to detail.
In 2022, we created a sister company, Trace Fire Group Ltd. (TFG), to expand our fire consulting and testing services. This development allows us to provide an even wider range of services to our clients, including smoke control testing, fire alarm and sprinkler supervisory verification, and S1001 integrated systems testing.
Moreover, as part of our commitment to growth and expanding our reach, we further expanded to offer engineering and project management services in select provinces across Canada, including British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Alberta, and Quebec. We are dedicated to serving clients in these regions with the same dedication and expertise that defines TCG’s approach.
Meet Our Leadership Team
Sam Soltani
President, P.Eng, PEO Designated Consulting Engineer (C.Eng)
Sam Soltani, P.Eng, C.Eng, is the Founder, President and visionary leader of Trace Consulting Group Ltd. (TCG) established in 2016, Trace Fire Group Ltd. (TFG) established in 2022, and Trace Maintenance Group Ltd. (TMG) established in 2025. He founded and continues to lead these firms with a clear strategic vision focused on technical excellence, integrity, and forward thinking engineering solutions across the built environment.
With extensive experience in engineering consulting, project management, forensic investigations, and litigation support, Sam specializes in the investigation, design review, and oversight of complex building systems. He is frequently retained as an expert witness in civil litigation and has authored technical articles on a broad range of building system topics. His professional work is widely recognized for its technical depth, practical application, and clarity of communication.
Sam is a licensed Professional Engineer P.Eng and a Consulting Engineer C.Eng, a designation conferred by Professional Engineers Ontario to recognize senior engineers who demonstrate advanced experience, professional leadership, and responsibility in consulting practice. He is also a LEED® Accredited Professional.
His expertise spans multi unit residential and commercial buildings, as well as retail and industrial developments. Sam has played a pivotal role in numerous large scale projects, guiding assignments from early stage investigations through design, construction, and post occupancy review. Known as a hands on consultant with a strong focus on client service and accountability, he remains actively involved in both the strategic direction and technical execution of TCG, TFG, and TMG.
Beyond his professional practice, Sam is actively engaged in advancing the construction and real estate industry. He serves on the Board of Directors of CAI Canada and contributes to its advocacy and education initiatives, supporting improved governance, building performance, and risk management across the condominium sector.
